Isn't it strange how a 20 dollar bill seems like a large amount when you donate it to the church, but a small amount when you go shopping?
Isn't it strange how 2 hours seems so long when you're at church, and how short they seem when you're watching a good movie?
Isn't it strange that you can't find a word to say when you're praying, but you have no trouble thinking what to talk about with a friend?
Isn't it strange how difficult and boring it is to read one chapter of the Bible, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a popular novel?
Isn't it strange how everyone wants front row tickets to concerts or games, but they do what ever is possible to sit on the last row in church?
Isn't it strange how we need to know about an event at church 2-3 weeks before the day so we can include it in our agenda, but we can adjust it for other events at the last minute?
Isn't it strange how difficult it is to learn a fact about God and share it with others, but how easy it is to learn, understand, and repeat gossip?
Isn't it strange how we believe everything that magazines and newspapers and other people say, but we question the words in the Bible?
Isn't it strange how you ask God to show you the truth, but you allow other people to make you believe what they want you to believe?
Isn't it strange how you pray to God to send you the right person, but when He does you try to figure out what you can find wrong with them or blame them for because it's not who everyone else wants them to be?
Isn't it strange how everyone wants a place in heaven, but they don't want to do, believe, or say anything to get there?
Isn't it strange how we send jokes in e-mails and they are forwarded right away, but when we receive messages about God, we think twice about whether or not to share it with others?
Isn't it strange that the answers you've been begging God to send you are found in a simple e-mail, but you refuse to accept them because of what others might think?
IT'S STRANGE ISN'T IT?
"When God takes something from your grasps, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive another blessing."
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Today we have higher buildings and wider highways, but shorter temperaments and narrower points of view.
We spend more, but enjoy less... Have bigger houses, but smaller families... More compromises, but less time More knowledge, but less discernment (judgement) More medicines, but less health.
We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values We talk much, love only little, and hate too much. We reached the moon and came back, but find it troublesome to cross our own street and meet our neighbors.
We have conquered the outer space, but not our inner space We have higher income, but less morals These are times with more liberty, but less joy... With much more food, but less nutrition...
These are days in which 2 salaries come home, but divorce increases. These are times of finer houses, but more broken homes.
That's why as of today you should: Not keep anything for a special occasion, because everyday you live is a special occasion.
Search for knowledge, read more, sit on the front porch and admire the view with out paying attention to the chaos.. Spend time with your family, eat your favorite food, visit the places you love.
Life is a chain of movements of enjoyment; it isn't only survival.
Use your crystal goblets. Do not save your best perfume. Use it every time you feel you want it. Take out from your vocabulary phrases like "One of these days" and "Someday"
Let's write that letter we thought of writing "One of these days" Let's tell our families and friends how much we love them.
Never pass up the chance of adding laughter and joy to your life. Remember every day, hour, and minute are special and you never know if it will be your last...
If you are too busy to take some minutes to send a message to someone you love and you tell yourself that you will send it "One of these days"
Just remember that "One of these days" can be far away and you may not be there to see it.
God Bless You!

The apostles remind me a whole lot like our church brethren. All the churches argue about who's right and "We do church more scriptually than you"...
Even brethren amongst their own argue who has a higher position. Preacher's, elders, deacons, etc even get into these debates. How sad!
When the apostles were arguing amongst themselves, about who was the greatest and would get to sit at Christ's right side, Jesus had a young child brought amongst them and explained "that unless they (the apostles)and us too become as little children, we will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Children depend on their parents for everything. Without parents children could not provide the necessities of life like shelter, food, etc. Are we any different?
So often, we (religious leaders) think we're God's gift to religion. Guess what? We are NOT! God doesn't need you or me. Satan was casted down out of heaven because of pride. Have we too become so prideful that we think we are better than everybody else.
Paul explains in 1st Cor. 12:12-31 that just as our physical bodies are made up of many parts (hand, foot, eyes, nose, ears, etc)so it is with the church. Truth is these names (Preacher, elder, deacon, etc.) are gifts given to us by God NOT titles or labels to elevate ourselves above others.
Lord, help me become humble, and give me too the heart of a child. Help me always to rely and depend on you for all my needs just as a child does his parents.
"For the first shall be last, and the last, first."

Many people today are searching for that 24hr/day 7 day a week fix. They search for it in drugs, alcohol, sex, other people, etc.
Although these things do offer temporary satisfaction, one is always left to look for more, because it never lasts permanently.
The reason it doesn't last is bacause true happiness is not found in these things. God didn't put true happiness in these things. If He did then we wouldn't need Him.
God wants us to fill up on Him. Jesus tells the woman at the well "If you would have asked me, I would have given you living water."
You see, she was looking for happiness in men. She had tried 5 and the one she was presently living with wasn't her husband. Who or what are you relying on for happiness? If it is anything other than God, you will be left empty, void, and disappointed.
God bless you all!
