My Spiritual Journey
Tuesday November 1, 2005
A man was flying from Seattle to San Francisco. Unexpectedly, the plane stopped in Sacramento along the way. The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft, the plane would re-board in 50 minutes. Everybody got off the plane except one gentleman who was blind. The man had noticed him as he walked by and could tell the gentleman was blind because his Seeing Eye dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of him throughout the entire flight. He could also tell he had flown this very flight before because the pilot approached him, and calling him by name, said, "Keith, we're in Sacramento for almost an hour. Would you like to get off and stretch your legs?" The blind man replied, "No thanks, but maybe my dog would like to stretch his legs.
" Picture this: All the people in the gate area came to a complete standstill when they looked up and saw the pilot walk off the plane with a Seeing Eye dog!
The pilot was even wearing sunglasses. People scattered. They not only tried to change planes, but they were trying to change airlines! True story.... Have a great day and remember... THINGS AREN'T ALWAYS AS THEY APPEAR

There is a story told of a little boy who once noticed an enormous elephant tied to a tiny stake in the ground. He asked the elephant's trainer if the elephant could pull the stake up and get away. The trainer replied, "Yes he could." But then the trainer added, "But he never will."
"You see, when he was just a baby elephant, we had to tie him up with a heavy chain. The chain was fastened to a six-foot pillar of steel and concrete buried in the ground. Even though he kept trying to break away, he never could. one day, he quit trying. Ever since, all we've needed to keep him in his place has been this little stake. You see, elephants have excellent memories, and every time this enormous elephant thinks about breaking away, he remembers back to when he tried before and failed. So he doesn't even try."
It's sad, but many of us are like that too. Somebody along our life has made us believe that we are no good (etc) so we live the rest of our lives tied to that stake (of lies) that has been driven deep into the ground.
How sad for that to happen to anybody. God has created us marvelous and wonderful. You are a marvelous person and God loves you. If you want to tie yourself to anything, tie yourself to that truth. Peace.

I want to thank everyone who prayed for our weekend, it was wonderful. We had a very blessed weekend. Several religious heritages were represented. Some of them included Baptist ministers, Catholics, Methodists, and even church of Christ, more may have been represented, but these are the ones I know personally about.
Next Sunday, our members will make a decision on taking down the sign in front of our building. If the sign is what's preventing people to come, then we are going to remove it. We are also discussing going to a more open form meeting by removing the pews and going to more of a living room atmosphere with home furniture. There is just nothing intimate about sitting in pews and looking at the back of people's heads.
I am so excited about the possibilities of growth. If you have any ideas or suggestions please let me know. As long as God is getting glorified, we will do it.

This weekend Theophileous will be a guest speaker in our community. Please pray that God will bless our weekend with His presence. It is our prayer that God will have an impact on our community in a way that He (God) will get all the glory.
Father, please bless us with your presence this weekend. Open our hearts to what you want us to know, open our ears to what you want us to hear, open our eyes to what you want us to see, but most of all help us to love others as you would have us love. Amen.

Sorry, that I've been away a few days, but I have not been able to leave this new web site. It takes only a few seconds AND IT'S FREE.
You put your name and school information (High School or College Attended) and it will bring up pictures of you. It even showed some of my pictures of my football days. Some pictures I never even knew were taken. You should try it, I bet there are even a few pictures of you that you didn't know existed or pictures of you and your friends that you had forgotten about. Just go to http://www.worldschoolphotographs.com and let me know if you had success. It amazes me that at the click of a button I can find so many pictures of me. Kind of scary isn't it?
