 AN AGGIE JOKE!

An Baylor guy, a Longhorn, and an Aggie were doing construction work on scaffolding on the 20th floor of a building.

They were eating lunch and the Baylor guy said, "Corned beef and cabbage! If I get corned beef and cabbage one more time for lunch, I'm going to jump off this building."

The Longhorn opened his lunch box and exclaimed, "Burritos again! If I get burritos one more time, I'm going to jump off too."

The Aggie opened his lunch and said, "Bologna again! If I get a bologna sandwich one more time, I'm jumping too."

The next day, the Baylor guy opened his lunch box, saw corned beef and cabbage, and jumped to his death.

The Longhorn opened his lunch, saw a burrito, and jumped, too.

The Aggie opened his lunch, saw the bologna, and jumped to his death as well.

At the funeral, the Baylor guy's wife was weeping. She said, "If I'd known how really tired he was of corned beef and cabbage, I never would have given it to him again!"

The Longhorn's wife also wept and said, "I could have given him tacos or enchiladas! I didn't realize he hated burritos so much."

Everyone turned and stared at the Aggie's wife.

"Don't look at me," she said. "He always made his own lunch."

 RECALL MESSAGE!

Recall Message

The Maker of all human beings is recalling all units manufactured,
regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary
and central component of the heart.

This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units code
named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in
all subsequent units. This defect has been technically termed,

"Subsequential Internal Non-morality," or more
commonly known as S.I.N., as it is primarily expressed.

Some other symptoms:
1. Loss of direction
2. Foul vocal emissions
3. Amnesia of origin
4. Lack of peace and joy
5. Selfish, or violent behavior
6. Depression or confusion in the mental component
7. Fearfulness
8. Idolatry
9. Rebellion

The Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault
for this defect, is providing factory authorized repair
and service free of charge to correct this SIN defect.

The Repair Technician, Jesus, has most generously
offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering
cost of these repairs. There is no additional fee required.

The number to call for repair in all areas is: P-R-A-Y-E-R. Once
connected, please upload your burden of SIN
through the REPENTANCE procedure.

Next, download ATONEMENT from the Repair Technician, Jesus,
into the heart component.

No matter how big or small the SIN defect is, Jesus will replace it with:

1. Love
2. Joy
3. Peace
4. Patience
5. Kindness
6. Goodness
7. Faithfulness
8. Gentleness
9. Self control

Please see the operating manual, the B.I.B.L.E.
(Believers Instructions Before Leaving Earth), for
further details on the use of these fixes.

WARNING: Continuing to operate the human being
unit without correction voids any manufacturer
warranties, exposing the unit to dangers and
problems too numerous to list and will result in
the human unit being permanently impounded.
For free emergency service, call on JESUS.

DANGER: The human being units not responding
to this recall action will have to be scrapped in the
furnace. The SIN defect will not be permitted to enter Heaven so as
to prevent contamination of that facility.

Thank you for your immediate attention.
GOD

Please assist where possible by notifying others
of this important recall notice!!!

 MATTHEW 9:37

Matthew 9:37 “Then he said to his disciples,” The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few.”

Jesus knew that his Father was constantly at work in the hearts of people, preparing them by making them aware of their own spiritual need and emptiness. Countless people were (and are today) ready to respond to the good news. They simply needed to be told the gospel and shown the love of Christ.

This is still so true today. Countless people we will meet this week will respond to the truth, especially when preceded by a kind word, a warm smile, loving concern, or a thoughtful action.

Let’s ask the Lord to make us aware of the needs of people around us—relatives, friends, the grocery clerk, the flight attendant, the work associate, the neighbor, the waiter, etc. Let’s see what happens when we purpose to notice people more, and be ready to act as the Lord leads us. May we be laborers in the harvest. May we not let the harvest go unattended.

Lord, please open my eyes more to the ready harvest and to more actively labor to touch lives you’ve prepared.

 Mattew7:26

Matthew 7:26 “But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.”

Think of it! The Son of God, the creator of all, the second Person of the Trinity came to earth and gave us life-giving guidance. The One who really knows me and knows all the past and the future, who is the source of all wisdom gave us truth by which we can live real life. It is impossible for Jesus to be irrelevant, out of touch, unreasonable or idealistic. What He spoke was all truth, light and life!

Our typical response to Him and His teaching doesn’t make any sense apart from the fact that we have a fallen nature. We tend to love darkness rather than light. We tend to want to go our own way rather than surrender to His way.

Have you ever made a decision to make the teachings of Jesus and the rest of the Scriptures your authority in how you will live? If you make them optional, or regard them as merely nice platitudes or suggestions you will be like the man building his house on the sand. You might enjoy the view for a while but it will not last.

It seems that we all choose those things upon which we will base our lives—our authority. We may make ourselves our own authority, or a professor, or a coach, or a friend, or a writer, or what’s popular. If the principles these authorities live by don’t align with those of Jesus, we will be building our houses on sand if we follow them.

Lord, please help me master and live by the teachings of Jesus. Help me never again be swayed by anything else.

 James 1:19

James 1:19 "Dear friends, lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear. God's righteousness doesn't grow from human anger."

These are practical truths stated another way. Get the facts first by listening. That usually means listening the both sides or the key involved parties. Take the time to sort through the facts then ask God for insight. When he provides that and gives you something to say (and only then), then speak only what's needed, what will be instructive and constructive.

Often when our boss or a customer complains about something one of our people has done, we rush to conclusions and pounce on the suspected people. Many times we amplify rather than muffle the emotion and we over react. This may happen in our parenting also.

Whether leading, managing, or parenting, the degree of our influence is greatly affected by our practice of listening first. Those who listen become respected. Those who don't, join the ranks of the mediocre performers.

Lord, please teach me to listen first and to speak only that which is appropriate.
