 Matthew 19:29
Back to Full Blog

Matthew 19:29 “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.”

Jesus is saying that those who follow him will never be short-changed, and, in fact, will receive much more than they have given and sacrificed.

He will never have us do something that contradicts his written word. He will often ask us to do things that will stretch our faith and reveal our motives and priorities. He wants us to trust him totally for ourselves, for our families, and for all we hold dear.

Most of our reward will be in heaven, but much of it will be here. We must be steadfast, persevering, and boldly confident of our future in Christ. We will never be sorry for truly following him and seeking to do his will alone. Whatever sacrifices we make will seem insignificant compared to his blessings.

Lord, sometimes I feel sorry for myself and wonder why I have to sacrifice. Please forgive my lack of faith and my self-focus. May I see things as you see them.

Amen Briefcase! I'm having to make some really tough decisions lately. Many things I was trying to hold onto were not of God. They're falling away one by one. Well, some had to be ripped away! But I am so much better for it! I know I'll never be perfect, perfection is God's Business. But, I'm really trying to see me as He does, and change what needs to be changed because I love Him.

Brief

I love the verse from Matthew 19:29 “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.”

I have been reminded so often in pray about this verse. As you know, I believe, I left the LDS Church more than 20 years ago. It was rough going because you not only leave family but sometimes, job, community and lifestyle. That is why not a lot of people successfully get out of that cult - there is such binding influences on the entire life structure. Anyway for me - leaving what in answer to me hearing God call me.

Like Matt. 7:7 - I had asked - I had seeked and God opened the Door. - I know with all my heart if you - ask, and seek and hear - the door will open and Jesus (the real Jesus) will be standing there. Just like Rev. 3:20. How true God's word is - and how faithful He is to answer prayers and guide us down the path of Life into everlasting.

Great Post - I always look forward to visiting you and getting a uplifting message. God Bless

Come visit me too - I always look forward to hearing from you.

godseeker,

It is great to see that you recognize what is and is not of God. You are blessed to have such spiritual vision. Many people out there are blind and many others willfully blind. Let Go and Let God! Thanks for your comments.

Briefcase, speaking from my own experiences and being blessed in having a personal relationship with my Creator: If I am ever in doubt, which never lasts long, (but it only takes a moment of hesitation) I remind myself that he is All Loving, All Compassionate and All Forgiving. As He already knows our hearts and He planned very carefully, giving us "Free Will" and in doing so, knows that we will err, as we are the result of His Great Love.
What has insued since and what continues to, He also knows is a reault of our "Free Will."

He's watching and He's waiting. He has all the time in the world.

I shared recently that I have felt His Love and have felt His Fury.
This feeling cannot be mistaken for any other.

He understands that we all will come upon such things as: having doubt, losing our Faith, questioning Him in most difficult times during our lives. We ALL, no exceptions, have displayed and will continue to, human emotion.

I believe He knew/knows what He is doing. I believe I am not privy to all or even most, of the answers. That is where my Faith kicks in.
And by the time I receieve the answers (which I won't, unless his desire is for me to reach a higher plateau by continuing to unconditionally Love and Trust Him), I will be with Him and they won't matter anylonger.

This life I see as a very brief moment in time. But to Him, every moment contains it's own lifetime. I have felt this to be true.

Faith is believeing without seeing or as some non-believers have put it..."I need proof of His existance."
The proof is everywhere, if that's what they are searching for.
He IS TRUTH! He is LOVE!
We can't "see" the wind, but we can "feel" it.

I unconditionally Love (adore) and trust Him always and in All Ways!!!
There is never a doubt in my mind that He knows my heart and my intentions being pure of and of Him, when I stray, He knows beyond a doubt, that I always find my way Home.
I find my way back to Love.

My feelings on this subject.

Very nice blog. Thank you for this thought-provoking post!

Peace and Love to you...Solid
